It is estimated nearly 24% of children are food insecure, defined as unsure how their next meal will be provided. During the school year, children are fed breakfast and lunch at school which helps alleviate the problem. When school is out during the summer months, local food banks carry a larger responsibility to feed kids. Peanut butter is an important protein staple to feed kids during these summer months, but is difficult to acquire in adequate quantities.
Ford Motor Company Fund has partnered with Ford Dealers and community food banks in the Pacific Northwest to address this problem with the fifth annual Ford Peanut Butter Drive. Take a jar of peanut butter to your local Ford store, Safeway, or Albertsons between April 9th – 23rd and help feed kids in your community. The annual Ford Peanut Butter Drive has collected over 180,000 lbs of peanut butter since it’s launch in 2014.
